What does this actually cost me?

ExChek itself is free. The only money you spend is on the AI subscription you’re probably already paying for. Here’s the breakdown — in real dollars, with a worked example at the bottom.

First, the simple part

The ExChek engine is free. Forever.

All 20 skills, the audit-log layer, the live eCFR data pulls, the analysis — all of it. No license fees, no “contact us for pricing.” The plugin is a zip file; you download it, drop it into Cowork, and use it. The restricted-party screening certificate even renders free.

Paid plans add the branded, audit-ready rendered documents — the seven PDF types — plus the system of record (vault, continuous monitoring, audit-readiness) to manage them. On the free tier you can also render any document pay-per-document for $1. See the four plans (Free, Starter, Professional, Enterprise).

Path 1 — the easy way

Use your Claude subscription.

Most ExChek users are on a Claude Pro, Max, or Teams plan. You install the plugin in Cowork once, and from then on every classification, screening, and memo runs against your existing usage allowance. No extra invoice.

Path 2 — the per-call way

Or pay per call, through the API.

High-volume teams (thousands of classifications a month) often save money by skipping the subscription and paying per token directly. Here are the current Anthropic rates for the two Opus models ExChek runs on.

A worked example

What one classification actually costs.

Say you’re classifying a headlight housing assembly destined for Germany. ExChek loads the part spec, the relevant CFR sections, the country list, and the screening lists, then writes you a memo. Roughly:

Input tokens (prompt + part spec + CFR cache hits)~80,000 tokens, mostly cached
